PMP Certification Requirements

Welcome to our site which is a comprehensive guide to PMP Certification Requirements.  Fortunately, the requirements are not many, but you need to be aware of them.  PMP certification can help you get ahead in life and move up the ladder at your employer or large corporation.  It will also give you the opportunity to be a project management leader in your workplace and community.   Fortunately the cost of PMP certification is rather minimal compared to the benefits you will receive with the completed certification.

First, you must have experience in project management.  The number of years experience depends on your level of degree.  If you only have a either a high school diploma or associate’s degree then you need at least a minimum of five years or sixty months of project management experience.  During this time, you should have spent a minimum of 7500 in the role of leading various projects and tasks.  In addition to this, you will also need to have 35 hours of formal education or PDUs.  Should you already have a bachelor’s degree or higher then the requirements are less stringent with only 3 years of 36 months of continuous experience needed.  Also, the number of hours required leading various projects is less than 7500 and is in fact only 4500.   It is important to make sure and review the rigorous standards imposed by PMI to ensure that you will meet the eligibility criteria.

Should you decide to move forward with PMP certification you will need to take the PMP certification exam.  However, if you haven’t done so you should sign up for the exam at PMI known as the Project Management Institute.  They are the organization that administers the exam and provides the certification.   This exam is not easy, but it isn’t incredibly difficult either.  Regardless, you will need to put in a good study effort to pass.  I recommend you get sample exam questions and also attend a study course as well.  We offer a FREE PMP Exam Simulator that will help you immensely with no obligation.  If there is no course near you you can try various online varieties.   We recommend PM Prepcast that will help you prepare and learn in an efficient manner all the essential information that you need to pass the PMP certification exam.  The course is inexpensive, online, convenient and can be done at your own pace.  Try a FREE TRIAL of PMP Prepcast at no obligation.  How can you say no to that?
